About SharpSchool
Leadership Team

SharpSchool’s Leadership team combines technical prowess, business experience, and a focus on the needs of education.

Chris Duff (CEO)

Chris Duff is a teacher in a unique position. Chris worked for 15 years in the software industry for what is now CGI Insurance Systems. He led teams and developed solutions for all parts of the insurance enterprise. He filled a range of roles from Programmer, to Analyst, to Project Manager.

While on vacation in Tibet, Chris was struck with an epiphany – he needed to turn his life to teaching. Chris retired from CGI and went on to spend 10 years as a teacher, educator, and computer expert for schools.

In 2001 Chris realized that his years of experience in both IT and education gave him a unique position to build a solution for the K-12 community to bring the best of both worlds together. He teamed up with one of his former students, a programming prodigy named John Carbrey, to create SharpSchool.

For the last nine years Chris has continued to drive SharpSchool forward, using his calling as an educator to keep the solution focused on the needs of the K-12 community.

John Carbrey (CIO)

A driven businessman and programmer, John was named a top young web architect by MIT in 1999 and went on to work as the Intranet Manager for Ingram Micro, a fortune-70 computer hardware and software distributor. At Ingram, John developed the company’s world wide Intranet Portal. In 2001 he joined his former teacher Chris Duff to form SharpSchool. At SharpSchool he has helped to develop the core functionality of the SharpSchool solution. In 2009 he won awards from the Business Development Bank and EDC recognizing his commitment to excellence.

Bradley Robins (Manager of Business Development)

Bradley is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of California State University who spent five years working in education as an elementary school teacher and children’s mentor before moving into computer solutions for education and educational writing. In those fields he worked with multiple school districts, educational development publishers, and software systems to build products designed to assist teachers in developing curriculum goals, managing classrooms, and integrating technology in modern education. As a part of the SharpSchool team, Bradley acts to ensure that the SharpSchool solution meets the needs of teachers, administrators, students, parents, and the community.
