National Innovation Leader

NRC logoOn March 12, 2010 the National Research Council (NRC) recognized SharpSchool as an Innovation Leader. The NRC created the Innovation Leader Certificate Program to recognize firms that have successfully developed and applied innovative technologies. SharpSchool was proud to receive this recognition for our tireless efforts to improve and innovate in order to bring educators the best online solutions.

Technology & Learning 2006 Award of Excellence

Technology and Learning Award sealSharpSchool implemented its Learning Object Repository, Event Registration, Collaboration, and Content Management modules for the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). The DEN is an arm of the Discovery Channel connecting over 20,000 educators. The DEN website won the 2006 award for Excellence in Technology and Learning. This award has recognized exceptional education and technology products for more than 20 years. Judging of the entries is conducted in a rigorous way by carefully selected educators; the criteria include quality and effectiveness, ease of use, creative use of technology and suitability for use in an educational environment.

ORION Awards

OrionlogoSharpSchool implemented its learning management system (eLearning) for York University’s Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) Project. This project enabled York University to carry out a distance learning project which not only increased its share of revenues, but also gave people across the continent access to the wealth of educational resources at York University. In 2006, ABEL won two Ontario Research and Innovation Optical Network (ORION) awards to recognize the use of broadband networks in teaching and learning. These prestigious awards signify the usability of the website in making use of the latest IT solutions for learning. SharpSchool was commended for its contribution in making the ABEL project a success by implementing its state of the art learning management system.
